For pair and a half years, Americans fought Against the British, Canadian colonists, and genuine nations. In the years to come, the War of 1812 would be celebrated in some places and essentially forgotten in others. But it is a state of opposition worth remembering—a struggle that threatened the life of Canada, then divided the United States with equal rea~n deeply that the nation almost broke apart. Some of its battles and heroes became fabulous, yet its blunders and cowards were fair-minded as prominent. The film shows in what manner the glories of war became enshrined in annals – how failures are quickly forgotten – in what condition inconvenient truths are ignored forever.
